Zaporizhzhya National University
Nowadays Zaporizhzhia National University is a higher education establishment of the IV level of accreditation, a real scientific and educational center, one of the most renowned classical universities of Ukraine. The structure of the University includes 15 faculties, 66 chairs, Nikopol Institute, Scientific Research Institute of Ukrainian Cossacks, Crimean Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism, 2 educational and consulting centers in Kryviy Rig and Melitopol. All this guarantees the achievement of high-standard higher education in 35 specialties.

High standard of the educational of methodical work of the University is established with the academic staff numbering more than 600 instructors, and there are 70 proffesors and more than 250 associate-professors among them.
The preparation of scientific staff is carried out in the course of postgraduate studies in 36 specialties and doctoral studies in 12 specialties. There function 4 specialized academic councils authorized to confer PhD degree in such specialties as Physics and Mathematics, History and Philosophy.
The process of study in ZNU is being intensively computerized. The university corporate network connected to the world wide web Internet is one of the largest among the Ukrainian higher education establishments.

The "geography" of scientific links of the University is very diverse. Our consulters and partners are Archeological, Historical, Physical and Technological Institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute of Pedagogics and Higher Education of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv National University and a number of others.
ZNU collaborates with foreign colleagues within the frames of 8 International Projects and maintains contacts with 47 universities, funds and international organizations of Russia, Germany, USA, China, Spain, Great Britain, Austria, Bulgaria and so on.
The scientific library of the University (containing over 800 thousand printed and electronic issues of different editions) is of great importance in the informational support of the process of study and scientific research work.
The university has everything necessary for the overall harmonious development of a personality. There are sports complex, sanatorium-preventorium, recreation department on the beach of the Asov Sea and a biostation-preventorium on the Hortitsa Island. The University has its student club, a student FM radio station "Universe", a printing office. The printed output is as follows: newspapers "Nash Gorog" and "Zaporizhzhia University", a collection of scientific articles "ZNU Bulletin" and other professional proceedings.
The students and alumni of the Faculty of Physical Education enhance the glory of the University them being winners and awardees of Olympic Games, World and Ukraine Championships, All-Ukrainian Student Games, Honored Masters of Sports, International Masters of Sports, Masters of Sports of Ukraine.
In recent years the University entered the list of top ten classical universities of Ukraine. ZNU was awarded the Diploma of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the diplomas of laureate of the rating "Zolota Fortuna" in nominations "Third Millennium Quality of Education" and "The Best Regional University of Ukraine".

Zaporizhzhya National Technical University
The life story of Zaporizhzhya National Technical University (ZNTU) goes back to 1900 when in the provincial town of Olexandrivsk the Mechanical Vocational School was established. Since that time the educational establishment developed, changed its name until in 2001 it became Zaporizhzhya National Technical University. Nowadays ZNTU includes 11 faculties, 38 departments; 9 lecture and laboratory buildings with up-to-date equipment; 5 student hostels, one family hostel among them; a library with more than one million volumes of literature; developed information network with connection to the global computer system of Internet and network of Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science; the computer printing house; two sports-health centres along the Dnipro River and on the Azov Sea shore, a sanatorium dispensary; a medical centre, sports and nutrition complexes etc.
 The University trains students for Bachelor, Specialist (Engineer) and Master degrees on 33 majors. The teaching staff numbers nearly 600 persons, 400 of whom have scientific degrees and academic ranks, including 47 professors, D. Sc. 24 lecturers were awarded the titles of Fellows and Associate Members of National Academy of Science and branch academies of Ukraine. 12 persons have honourable titles of Honoured Scientists, Honoured Workers of Education, Laureates of State Prizes.
At present there are 9200 students in the University, 5500 of whom are full-time students. More than 100 international students are now studying at the University. They are from China, Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, India, Russia and other countries.
The preparatory work with the future entrants including foreign citizens is held at the Preparatory education Department. During one year foreign students study Russian, Ukrainian and also the main profile subjects on the Preparatory education Department for foreign citizens.
The University is a powerful scientific and research complex equipped with the modern research machinery, it fulfils a great amount of fundamental and applied researches. It includes some well-known scientific schools of the following fields: foundry; material sciences and heat processing; welding; radio engineering and microelectronics; mechanics of dynamic systems; heat engineering; technical cybernetics; solid-state physics.
The University issues the following 3 scientific-research journals: "New Materials in Metallurgy and Machine Building", "Radioelectronics, Information Technology, Controls", "Electrical Engineering and Energetic".
Scientific staff of the higher qualification is trained at the University Post-Graduate and Doctoral Department. Specialised scientific councils for thesis examination work here.
The activity of ZNTU is acknowledged in Ukraine and all over the world. During the years of its existence the University has trained more than 60 000 specialists including 1000 citizens of the countries of Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America.
ZNTU maintains business, scientific, educational and cultural links with educational establishments of China, Germany, Poland, Russia, France, Slovenia, Greece, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Bulgaria.

Zaporizhzhya Medical Academy of Post-Diploma Education
The Academy have the 4th level of accreditation (the highest level of accreditation in Ukraine). A new concept, which envisages integrated system of actions directed at high, world-standard level of medical stafftraining, high-quality assistance to the population, development and introduction of modern medical technologies and comprehensive cooperation with foreign medical institutions, was developed.
During the existence of the educational institutions more than 131 thousand of doctors have been trained in 30 basic medical specialities, as well as 660 clinical ordinators, 178 postgraduate doctors, 70 holders ol'a Master's degree and 3100 doctor-interns.
During this period 78 doctors of medical sciences and 196 candidates of medical sciences of the Institute have defended their dissertations.
During the last 10 years 187 foreign doctors from various countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America(Lebanon, Syria. Palestine, Morocco, Yemen, Jordan, Pakistan, Nigeria, Venezuela, Cameroon, Turkey, Ecuador, Bolivia, Tunisia, Bangladesh. Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Georgia, Armenia and others) have been trained at the Institute. 7 foreign doctors have successfully defended their dissertations and obtained scientific degrees ol'a candidate of medical sciences. At present 5 foreign doctors are successfully completing their dissertations.

Zaporizhzhya State Medical University
The system of training at Zaporozhye State Medical University includes the premedical, medical and post-diploma periods of training. The premedical education is provided at the Preparatory faculty for foreign citizens, which is the oldest one in the countries of CIS. It is the center of foreign students' training for further studies in other higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
 More than 80 professors and doctors of science, 300 associate-professors and PhDs, the academicians of native Academies, Honorary workers of science and engineering, Honorary workers of higher institutions of Ukraine, State prize winners are engaged in pedagogical and scientific-research work at 53 departments of the University. The total number of teachers with scientific degrees is 86, 3%. At many chairs their total number is 100%.
The scientific schools of the University are well known outside Ukraine. They are the cardiolog school of Academician of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of medical science, Professor A. D. Visir, the pharmaceutical school of Professor I. A. Mazur, the surgery school of Honorary worker of science and engineering, Professor A. S. Nikonenko. For the time in Ukraine the specialists of this school have performed the transplantations of heart, liver, kidney and pancreas. More than 500 transplantations have been performedthere. The scientists of the University are masters of all modern methods applied in leading clinics of the world. The University has its own medical-diagnosis center. The introduction of computer technologies into the teaching-studying process, scientific research and management is one the priority-driven University's activities. At present there are 727 computers and 26 computer classrooms at the University providing students with educational programs based on the multimedia technologies and test controlling courses in the main subjects. The local information net server was organized in the University.
For conducting of fundamental and applied scientific investigations the University has the unique equipment: computer tomographs, devices for ultrasonic diagnosis, angiographic and endoscopic checkup, radioisotope diagnosis and etc.
Zaporozhye State Medical University looks like a student campus. It is a detached territory protected by a specialized guard for 24 hours.
The campus and hostels are equipped with the means of video surveillance and control. ZSMU has organized the illumination of adjacent territories at its own expense. The patrolling of the University campus and adjacent territories is conducted by police with assistance of public prosecutor's office, law machinery and city authorities.
The University has good sport facilities. There is a unique sport complex at the University. Not far from the academic buildings and student hostels there is a stadium with track and field athletic sectors, football field, sports grounds for handball, mini-football, volleyball, basketball. Our University has three gyms, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a shooting-range, chess and draught club and a fitness club. Students' football matches take place regularly at the university. The best teachers of the university are in charge of all clubs and sport sections. Studies on physical training go in accordance with academic curriculum for the 1-6 courses. There is a students' club at the university. Different circles of amateur activities work there for those who like to play musical instruments, sing and dance.

Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy was founded in 1916 on the basis of Yekaterinoslav Medical Courses and has been kept the adherence to the ideas of pro-viding the highest quality medical education, research and patient care ever since. It is One of the most distinguished medical educational institutions in the country.

National Mining University (Dnipropetrovsk)
A brilliant teaching staff of more than 150 doctors of science, professors and about 400 candidates of science, associate professors is the guarantee of the higher professional level of training of our graduates. The National Mining University is a leading institution of education and science.  Zaporizhzhya State Engineering Academy
During the last 20 years the academy trained more than 20 thousand specialists for the industrial enterprises of the Zaporizhzhya district. Specialists, who have got their education at the Academy, now work successfully in Ukraine and in 57 other countries of the world. About 10000 students study at the day and at the correspondence departments of the Academy. There are 200 post-graduate students of technical schools.
30 teaching chairs (sub-faculties) of 7 departments lead educational process at the Academy. Languages of teaching are Russian and Ukrainian. The doctor of physical and mathematical sciences POZHUEV V.I heads the academy.
We have well equipped laboratories and the computer class net. 350 professors work here, among them there are 13 academicians, 5 Academy correspondent members, 148 Doctors of Philosophy, 24 Doctors of sciences and Masters of Science.
Among the graduates there are members of the Ukraine Government, Directors of many industrial enterprises of the Zaporizhzhya region.

Dnipropetrovsk University of Economics and Law
Dnipropetrovsk University of Economics and Law was one of the first universities in Ukraine which started implementing Bologna Declaration principles in the education process.
 Our university is open for cooperation with European institutions in such fields of academic and research activities as Economics, Law and Philological Studies.
Teachers of DUEL are constantly working on courses of study which are given in English. At the moment we are ready to teach 12 economic, law and philological courses in English. Therefore, we can admit foreign students for studying some disciplines at DUEL within the framework of exchange with universities of Europe.
Scholars of the university are ready to give unique economic and law information concerning conditions and potential of the Ukrainian economic system and the legal aspects of its functioning. This information can be interesting both for potential investors and for those companies or businessmen who are interested in entering the Ukrainian market of goods and service.
For research exchange, DUEL started to publish a scholarly journal "The European Vector of Economic Development" where research results of scientists from Ukraine, Poland and Russia are presented.
The students of our university study at least two foreign languages (English, German, French, Spanish and Polish). The students also have a possibility to study one of these languages as a third option. The level of students' foreign language command is confirmed by international certificates FCE, BEC, DELF, DALF, DELE, DSH. Every year the number of students who get international certificates are growing.
Our students take part in the work of summer language schools in Poland, where they improve their knowledge of Polish.
The university can organize summer language schools for learning Ukrainian, Russian, English, German, French and Spanish.
The university has postgraduate courses that invite students from European universities to prepare their PhD theses in Economics.

National Aviation University (Kyiv)
Aviation has always been in the forefront of scientific and technological progress. Tens of thousands of specialists for 122 countries have graduated from the largest aviation university in Ukraine, the National Aviation University (NAU). Now the University continues to provide training in promising areas and various specialities. The University was founded in 1933. It has the IV level of accreditation.
 Academic activities are performed by a highly skilled scientific and pedagogical team, including 23 academicians, corresponding members of the Academy of Science of Ukraine, 280 doctors of sciences, professors, 830 candidates of sciences and senior lecturers, 54 honored people of science and engineering of Ukraine and winners of the State prizes.
More than 50 thousand students study at the University today. 1200 foreign students from 50 countries are among them. 15 educational research institutes, 20 faculties, 10 research institutes and centres, 6 colleges, 4 lyceums and gymnasiums function at the University.
The are occupied by the University is about 90 hectares, the total are of 14 academic buildings is 150 000 square meters. 75 airplanes and helicopters, 42 aircraft engines, 3 aircraft simulators, 240 on-board systems, test benches and about 2500 modern computers are used in the educational process. The scientific and technical library has about 3 million books. The University has a training aerodrome, unique hangar, radio equipment and aviation ground equipment facilities, aerodynamic training complex with the wind tunnel, State Museum of Aviation.
Art and Culture Centre, sport complex, 11 comfortable hostels, canteen with a seating capacity for 1000 people at a time, medical centre, e-club, billiard club are the parts of students' campus. Also the University comprises summer camp on the bank of the Dnipro river and on the Black seashore.
One of the priorities of the University is the integration into the international research and education sphere. The University has joined the Bologna Convention that makes it possible to integrate scientists' efforts and to improve students mobility. The University professors and students carry out wide range of research with universities of Great Britain, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, France, South Korea and other countries.
The University successfully collaborates with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Two ICAO European Regional Training Centres are successfully functioning for aviation personnel upgrading. Both Centres implement the TRAINAIR Methodology on the basis of ICAO Standards and Recommended practices.
